NORWICH – Doris Burr Sullivan went to be with the Lord on Nov. 1, 2006, at the age of 85, after a short illness.
Doris was born in Norwich on June 13, 1921, to Daniel and Lois Burr, and graduated from Norwich High School in 1939. As a young woman, she worked along with her parents at the Burr Printing Company on Henry Street in Norwich. In 1983, she retired from Mid-York Press, which manufactured and printed many items for Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals. In 1989, she moved to Riverside Apts. for seniors with her mother, Lois.
Doris is survived by her two children: Tom (Rosanne) Sullivan of Johnson City and Susan (Jerry) Hilliker of Brooktondale; by five grandchildren: Jennifer, Joseph, Mary, and Sarah and Jeremy; and by one great granddaughter, Ariel. She is also survived by two sisters: Marilyn (Steve) Howland of Florida and Beth (Jack) Carey of Chestnut Ridge; and by many loving nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her brothers, Kenneth and Don Burr.
Funeral services for Doris will be held at noon on Wednesday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Susan Polizzi, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the service at noon.
