OXFORD – Barbara Troxell Marotta Smith, 55 of Syracuse, formerly of Oxford passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 13, 2010 at her home.
She was born on March 13, 1955 in Norwich a daughter of the late Harrison and Marie (Davis) Troxell.
She is survived by her children, Robbie and Heather Marotta of Rochester, and Heather and Leon Manwarren of Norwich; her brother and sister-in-law, William and Diane Troxell of Oxford; her sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and David Walsh of Scotia; her grandchildren, Abigail, Chloe, bailey, Layne and Tessa; her former husband, Edwin (Tiger) Smith of Oxford; her co-worker and friend, Lesley Galle; and her special friends, Gordon (Pops) Smith and Dorothy and Melvin Manwarren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Barb was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central School. She was very interested in getting a better education and received her PHD. She worked for several medical practices as their administrator, most recently for the Colo-rectal Institute in Syracuse. She loved her children and grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Riverside Cemetery, South New Berlin.
