SOUTH OTSELIC – Mary T. Cook, 86, passed away July 2, 2010 in Lakewood, Colo. She was a very special lady who will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren D. Cook and her sister Lois T. Major. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Loftus, her granddaughter Rachel Loftus and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was born in Gibson, Pa. She served as the pastor's wife at the First Baptist Church in South Otselic from 1962 to 1974. She taught music and then 2nd grade at Otselic Valley Central School from 1970 to 1986. After several years of care-giving for her aunt (Irene Brainard), her mother (Adelaide Tingley) and then her husband, Mary moved to Colorado. She loved the mountains and enjoyed an active life.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Watson Hill Bible Church on Route 492 in Lakeside, Pa. on Aug. 28 at 2:30 p.m. followed by burial at the cemetery in Gibson, Pa. and a reception at the church.
