Stanley Kida


OXFORD – Stanley C. Kida, 94 of Oxford, NY passed away on September 1, 2010 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich, NY. He was born on July 7, 1916 in Passaic, N.J. son of Kasper and Frances (Klesyk) Kida. On November 21, 1942 he married Margaret S. Klasko, who survives.
Besides he wife, Margaret, he is survived by his children, Stanley F. Kida of Hazelton, PA, and Robert and Luann Kida of Oxford; his sister, Stella Lazor of Passaic, NJ; his grandchildren, Paul R. Kida and partner Michelle Ezzo of Oak Ridge, NJ, Aaron R. and Amy Kida of Whitney Point, Amber L. Kida, and Dustin Loomis both of Oxford; his great grandchildren, Joseph Kida, Oliver Kida, and Megan Ezzo. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Stanley was a US Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Calvary under General George Patton in Europe. He was a member of Christy Rock Post #2782, VFW of Norwich. He was a member of the Amalgamated Lithographers of American and worked for over 25 years as a lithographer for various industries. He spent most of his life in Passaic, NJ and moved to Oxford 10 years ago. He was always busy, enjoying candle making, photography and working with his hands. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Oxford, NY with the Rev. Thomas I. Ward celebrating the mass. Burial with full military honors by members of Christy Rock Post will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, NY on Saturday from 9-10 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, Oxford.
