GREENE – Betty L. Wheelock, 68, went to be with the Lord at home on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lowell A. Wheelock on May 29, 2008. Betty is survived by her mother, Marion Hammerle; three daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Larry Crandall, Pamela and Ronald Ganoung, Wendy and Todd Herrick; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Melissa Wheelock; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Jean Barrows; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Douglas Preston, Nancy and Douglas Stratton-Reynolds.
Betty was a lifelong nurse, having worked many years at New York State Veterans Home and also in the Greene Medical Center.
Friends of the family may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St., Greene. Burial will be in Jersey Hill Cemetery, Rush, Pa. Funeral services will be private.
