SARATOGA SPRINGS – Jayne L. Thompson, 88, South Point Road, and formerly of Cold Brook, died peacefully on Oct. 26, 2010 at home surrounded by her family, following complications from a stroke.
Mrs. Thompson was born on May 28, 1922 in Norwich, a daughter of the late Clarence and Hazel (McCulley) Norwood. She received her education in Norwich schools and was united in marriage with Leslie H. Thompson on August 12, 1955 in Norwich. The couple moved to Cold Brook in 1966 where they raised their family. Following the passing of Les on Jan. 1, 2007, Jayne moved to Saratoga Springs where she had since resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jim Fogo.
Survivors include four daughters, Tina Chapman of Utica, Shawn VanCoillie and her husband, Steve of Arizona, Robin Hearburg and her husband, Scott of Ticonderoga, and Lisa Fogo and her husband, Jim of Saratoga Springs; six grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua and Brandon Chapman, Savannah and Sawyer VanCoillie and Hailee Hearburg; and several nieces and nephews. Jayne also had two brothers, Robert and Richard Norwood.
In accordance with Jayne’s wishes, a private graveside service will take place in South Plymouth Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
