GUILFORD – Laura Mae Smith, 64, of Guilford, went to heaven to meet the angels early Sunday morning, Nov. 12, 2006, at her home in Guilford.
Laura was born May 17, 1942 in Albany, the daughter of Clarence and Cigret Smith Moore. In October of 1992 in Florida, she married Clyde Smith. Over the years she had worked for Keith Clark in Sidney, the Norwich Shoe Co. and the Corsette Factory in Oneonta.
Laura is survived by her husband Clyde Smith of Guilford, her children Mathew and Laura, her stepdaughter Kay Corey of Sherburne and her stepson Charles E. Smith, also of Sherburne. Several cousins also survive. She was predeceased by her adoptive parents, Ralph and Carrie Edson.
At Laura’s request, there will be no formal services.
