SHERBURNE – Rolland Clarence Collins, Major, U.S. Air Force (Ret.), of Alexandria, Va., passed away on Nov. 23, 2010.
The son of Howard Ray and Arlene Crumb Collins, he was born March 30, 1944 in Norwich and raised in Smyrna. He graduated from Sherburne Central High School in 1962; from Colgate University with BA in 1966; and from the University of Montana with an MBA in 1971.
He is survived by his loving wife, Polly Pudney Collins; son, Kevin John Collins (Samantha); daughter, Holly Collins Chapman (Ethan); grandchildren, Timothy, Andrew, Peter and Aidan; and brother, Rodney Charles Collins (Florence).
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 South Washington Street, Alexandria, Va. Funeral services will also be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Monday. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Dec. 30 at 11 a.m.
