Lillian Edick

NORWICH – Lillian M. Edick, 80, life long Norwich resident, passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Lillian was born in Norwich in November of 1930, the daughter of Melvin and Elizabeth (Goldby) Mathers. She grew up in the Norwich area where she attended the local schools. On Oct. 2, 1947, in Norwich, she married Raymond Edick, who survives. Her working career spanned more than 40 years beginning with GLA and continuing on with its successors, from which she retired several years ago.
Lillian’s best attribute was the fact that she was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma and great grandma followed by the fact that she was very generous and would give anything away to those who needed it. Her spaghetti was to die for and she was always there to make her home a warm and comfortable place to be. When it was time to play BINGO, look out. She was always on the lookout for any bingo game be it in the area or at Turning Stone which she truly enjoyed.
Lillian is survived by her husband Ray of Norwich, her children Charles (Chuck) Edick and his wife Barbara of Oxford, Terri Mastrorocco and her husband Michael of New Windsor, and Rae Ann Edick of Norwich, her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Michele) Edick of West Clarksville, Diana (Thomas) Mulvey of Marietta, Mark (Michele) Mastrorocco of Italy, Kristopher Mastrorocco of New Windsor and Kacie Matott of Sherburne and 7 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters Betty (Bill) Irwin of Sherburne-Four Corners, June (Carl) Berry of Norwich and Judy Montgomery also of Norwich and her brother Fred Mathers of North Norwich. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Lillian was predeceased by her sisters Shirley Jennings and Linda Sutton and her brother Melvin Mathers.
Memorial services for Lillian will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11.
Please consider memorial contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County, 21 Hayes St., Norwich, NY 13815
