Jeanne was an active member of the community. After retirement she had time to pursue her numerous interests including garden, bridge and book clubs as well as her membership in the United Methodist Church. She also gave her time and energy to Meals on Wheels, Soup and Sandwich, and Hospice. Jeanne loved to garden and spent long hours adding flowers and plants to her homestead.
After her move to Durham, NC, Jeanne continued to garden, growing herbs, raspberries and roses with her granddaughter Anna. She also spent several days a week volunteering at penniesforCHANGE Thrift Store benefiting victims of domestic and sexual violence.
Jeanne and her husband Robert had seven children, one who died in infancy.
