SHERBURNE – David B. Gregory, 62, of Classic St., passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011.
He was born Nov. 16, 1948 in New Berlin, a son of Brittain and Gladys Gabriel Gregory. He was a graduate of New Berlin schools and had attended Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica. Dave was the Produce Manager at the Big M in Sherburne for 33 years until his recent retirement. He had previously worked for the Great American/Victory Markets grocery chain. He was a man of many pursuits who enjoyed technology, the latest gadgets, the visual arts and he entertained guests and neighbors with his love of rock and roll music. He also took great interest in the financial sector and was a successful self-taught investor. He loved the outdoors and was an avid bicyclist, camper and enjoyed taking nature walks.
Surviving are his mother, Gladys Gregory of New Berlin; daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and William Lounsbury of Schenectady; daughter-in-law, Aramae Gregory of South Plymouth; his beloved grandchildren, Brittain A. Lounsbury of Schenectady; Dustin and Renee Byrne of Norwich, Benjamin J. Gregory of Norwich; Marrisa M. Gregory of South Plymouth; great-grandsons, Hayden and Cameron; brother and sister-in-law, Rodger and Eugenia Gregory of Mt. Airy, MD; nieces and nephews, Elaine and Michael Stephens of MD, Eric and Sarah Gregory of Cyprus. He was predeceased by his father, Brittain, and his son, Benjamin A. Gregory.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
