SHERBURNE – W. Jerry Owens, 59, of North Main St., Sherburne, passed away Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at the Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany.
He was born April 2, 1951 in New Berlin, to Albert and Sarah Owens.  Jerry was a 1969 graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School. He obtained his A.S. Degree in Business from SUNY Morrisville and his B.A. in Business Administration from SUNY Tech, Utica. He was a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He had been married to the former Cherry Dale. Jerry was a member of the National Rifle Association and was of the Baptist faith.
 Surviving are his mother, Sarah Owens of Sherburne; daughter and son-in-law, Kirsche and David Owens-Spicer of FLW, MO; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Erika Vranjes of Buffalo; sister and brother-in law, Laurie and Patrick Hawkings of Oneonta; brother and sister-in-law Tom and Terri Owens of Valdese, NC; four grandchildren including Kyrsyka Owens of FLW, MO.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Kristian and father Albert. 
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St, Sherburne on Monday from 1-3 p.m. The funeral will follow directly at 3 p.m.
