OXFORD – Richard “Rich” Estelow passed away unexpectedly January 10, 2011 at his home.
He was born on Jan. 26, 1952 in Norwich, a son of the late J. VanWagenen and Charlotte (Sherwood) Estelow.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Judy Estelow of Oxford, his sister, Mary Kiernan of Sherburne and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Taylor and his niece, Brandi Estelow.
Rich was a gifted athlete and played football and track at Oxford Academy and Central School.
He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. He retired from the NYS Department of Transportation in Oxford. He was a former associate member of Fort Hill Post # 376, American Legion.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, with the Rev. John Martin, pastor of the Oxford United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
