Steven Trush
NORWICH – Steven F. Trush, 90, of Norwich, formerly of Morrisville, departed his earthly life peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011.
Born on May 27, 1920 in Derby, Conn., he was a son of John and Veronica Denys Trush. He was a graduate of Derby High School and attended Sheffield School (now Yale University). On April 28, 1945, Steve was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Grace Anderson, and they had one child, Nancy Jane. Mr. Trush was an electronics engineer who worked for Chance-Vought Aircraft in Stratton (CT), Dallas (TX), and Edwards Air Force Base (CA), before he and his wife founded their electronics parts and test accessories firm, Air-O-Tronics, in Morrisville (NY). Together, they operated the business until they retired in 1981. Steve was a member of the Morrisville Community Church.
Steve’s interests included fishing, gardening and especially Ham radio. He retained his Ham Operators’ license from age 15 to his death. He was a pioneer in electronics, aeronautics, radio, and TV. An extremely creative and innovative person, he developed several timer systems for his business which held patents. Steve made many good friends through his business and in their home communities of Morrisville and Norwich, and Barefoot Bay, Fla. More recently, new friendships were made at Chenango Valley Home and Chase Memorial Nursing Home. He will be remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, uncle, and friend who always went out of his way to help others in need.
Steve is survived by his daughter, Jane Trush Conklin, of Norwich; two sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, two brothers, and a sister.
His funeral service will be held at the Morrisville Community Church on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m., with calling hours starting at 9:30 prior to the service.
Spring interment will be made in the Union Cemetery (Welsh Church), Nelson.
