PITTSFIELD – Arthur L. Douglas, 72, passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006.
He was born on Nov. 8, 1934 in Oneonta. He lived and worked in the Norwich and Pittsfield area all his life. Arthur was married for 51 years to his wife, Florence, whom he lost in 2003 and missed very much after her passing. He retired from Unison in 2003 and continued working on his small farm in Pittsfield.
Arthur is survived by one sister, Francis Breslin and one brother, Cecil Douglas and his wife Gretchen. He is also survived by his four children, his daughter Donna Pickens, who cared for him during his illness, and her husband Korey; three sons, Arthur S. Douglas and his wife Laurel of Myrtle Beach, S.C., John S. Douglas and his wife Diane of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Karlen Richards. Seven grandchildren also survive him, Teresa A. Douglas and fiancé John K. Plows of Brookfield, DeAnna L. Douglas and Chad A. Douglas of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Renee Q. McGarrity and fiancé Clifford Butler of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Michael D. McGarrity of Bainbridge, Amber Douglas of Oneonta and Andrea Douglas of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Isek A. Richards along with six great-grandchildren.
At Arthur’s request, there will be no services.
