EAST PHARSALIA – MaryAnn Whitney, 70, of East Pharsalia, passed away Feb, 6, 2011, at UHS Wilson Hospital.
She was born in South Plymouth, to Harold E. Whitney and Edith P. Whitney, both deceased. She graduated from Norwich High School in 1959. She retired from Chenango County Highway Department after 27 years of service, and the N.Y. State Department of Correctional Services. MaryAnn attended C.V. Free Methodist Church. She was extremely fond of her two dogs and four cats.
She is survived by her three sons, Frank Mattocks (Beverly), Michael Mattocks, and Robert Mattocks (Jennifer); grandchildren, Valerie, Maximillian, and Stephan; one great-grandchild; brothers, Harold E. Whitney Jr. (Sandra) and David Whitney (Helen); sister, the former Sandra May Whitney (Drew Piascyk); four nieces and six nephews; seven great-nephews and five great-nieces; and several great-great nieces and nephews.
At her request there will be no funeral service.  
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 59 Court St., Binghamton , NY 13901.
