NORWICH – Norine C. Button, 89, of Norwich, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 27, 1921 in Norwich, Norine was the daughter and one of three children of Ezra and Hannora-Ann (Davern) Currie. She attended the Norwich Schools and worked for several regional hotels and restaurants, Scintilla, of Sidney, the Norwich Knitting Mill and Norwich Shoe Company. She was also well known for her extended daily walks around Norwich which began at an early age and extended well into her eighties.
 Norine is survived by her sons, Larry Button of Norwich, Ronald and Angelle Button of Glendale, Ariz., Terry and Anna Stark of Oxford and Rick Stark of Norwich; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and her brother, William M. Currie and his wife, Evelyn, of Norwich. She was predeceased by her son, Allan R. Stark Jr. and her daughter, Shelly Stark Cummings.
Funeral services for Norine will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Wilson Funeral Home. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in the spring in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
