NEW BERLIN – Betty Huth, 95, of New Berlin, passed away on Feb. 16, 2011 in New Berlin.
Betty was born on Jan. 28, 1916 in Bristol, Conn., the daughter of Clarence and Helen (Clark) Woodruff. Her childhood was spent in Westfield, N.J., where she was a graduate of Westfield High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from the New Jersey College for Women. On June 30, 1938 she married Harry Checketts Huth in Scotch Plains, N.J. He predeceased her on May 16, 1997.
Betty was a music teacher for the New Berlin and South New Berlin Central Schools. She also gave piano lessons in the New Berlin area and served as the Choir Director for St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in New Berlin for more than 30 years.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Huth of Berne and Harvey Huth of Voorheesville, as well as nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Susan George.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, New Berlin, with the Very Reverend Charles Taylor officiating.
Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, New Berlin.
