GUILFORD – Annie M. George, 89, of Guilford, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Susquehanna Nursing Facility in Johnson City.
Annie was born in Goochland County, Va., the youngest of three daughters by Mary and Henry Dabney, and raised in Sidney. She was a graduate of Sidney High School Class of 1940. Annie worked at Bendix for many years, retiring in 1992. On Jan. 4, 1942, Annie married Robert E. George in Sidney. He predeceased her in 2003 after 61 years of marriage.
She is survived by her children: daughter, Carolyn George and her partner Paula Brenner; son, Fayne George and his wife, Mellanie; and son, Andre Alexandrea and his wife, Kathy. She is also survived by grandchildren: Lindsey and Garret George, Brian and Troy Ingham, Mike, Steve and Christine McCall, Adrienne Alexandrea-Zornow, Annette Alexandrea-Smith, Kyle Alexandrea and Kristyn Alexandrea; twelve great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Hunter, Michael, Ryan, Tyler, Cassie, Brandt, Morgan, Jamila, My-Kel, Summer and Jayden. Additionally, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and sister-in-law, Helen Lewis, will dearly miss her.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Committal services will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
