SHERBURNE – Betty M. Paddock, 84, of Chapel St., passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Valley View Manor Nursing Home, Norwich.
She was born July 20, 1926 in Florida, N.Y., a daughter of Raymond and Alice Shaw Leeper.
She was a graduate of Hamburg (NJ) High School and continued her education to receive her L.P.N. Degree. On Nov. 21, 1943, Betty married Franklin Paddock, Jr. in Vernon, N.J., who predeceased her on Jan. 24, 1994. A resident of Vernon, N.J. for 52 years, Betty had worked at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Warwick, until moving to upstate New York in 1972. She lived in Smyrna and Lebanon before settling in Sherburne in 1984. She was a former member of the Vernon Firemen’s Auxiliary.
Surviving are her children, Sandra and Robert Wetterauw of Glenwood, N.J.; Roy and Barbara Paddock and Frank Paddock, all of Sherburne; Michael and Charlotte Paddock of Albion; a sister, Doris Decker of Sussex, N.J.; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Norwich, will be made at a later date.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
