EARLVILLE – Madeline I. Fetzko, 76, of Williams Road, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011 at her home.
She was born Oct. 28, 1934 in Port Chester, a daughter of Eugene J. and Geraldine Smith Twigg. She was a graduate of Pleasantville schools and West Chester Community College. On Nov. 8, 1958, Madeline married Robert Fetzko in Hawthorne. From 1954 to 1958, Madeline was a dietician at General Foods/Nestle Co. She had also been an independent sales representative for the Tupperware Co. for many years. Most of her life was spent as a homemaker who was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was very involved in her children‚s activities and had been a 4-H leader at one time. She enjoyed family camping trips, reading, stamping and card making.
Madeline was a communicant of St. Malachy‚s Church in Sherburne and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving are her husband, Robert “Bob;” her children, Madeline Fetzko of Olney, Md.; Mary Anne (Stephen) Dolan of Altmar; Susan (James) Osborne of Sherburne; Jean Bedford of Norwich; Eileen (Jamie) Hoffman of South Plymouth; Margaret Fetzko of Earlville; Robert M. Fetzko of Chappaqua, and Michael E. Fetzko (Melissa Schultz) of Earlville; a brother, Eugene (Martina) Twigg, Ocala, Fla.; 23 grandchildren; several nieces n nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen, and a sister, Geraldine Twigg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Malachy’s Church, East State St., Sherburne.
Interment will be in St. Malachy’s Cemetery, Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 1:45 p.m.
