Karen Alt


CINCINNATUS – A Celebration of Life service for Karen Jean Smith Alt, 62, of Flint, Texas, will be held on Saturday, April 9 at United Presbyterian Church in Cincinnatus, with Rev. Jeanne Angell officiating. A greeting of family and friends will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. with the service following.
Ms. Alt passed away March 27, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, in Tyler under the care of Hospice of East Texas.
She was born April 6, 1948 in DeRuyter, New York to Raymond and Laura J. Parker Smith.
Karen was a member of the Bethel Bible Church in Tyler. She worked as a sales specialist for Chico’s.
Karen was preceded in death by her father and nephew Corey Beckwith.
She is survived by her loving family including her fiancé, Harold Ford of Flint; daughter Nichelle Langone of New York City; son, Robert Alt of Pitcher; also by Matt Ford and wife Caron of Marshall; mother, Laura Smith of Cortland; grandchildren, Jenna Langone and Jillian Langone of New York, and Bella Ford and Jax Ford of Marshall; siblings, Karol Hart of Plano, Kai Loomis and husband David of North Pitcher, Kelly Goff and husband Robert of Cincinnatus, and Kris Smith of Pitcher; and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Gary Gross and his staff and the staff of the Hospice of East Texas.
