NORWICH – Robert C. Squires, 57, of Norwich passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006 at Wilson Memorial Regional Hospital in Johnson City.
Robert was born May 6, 1949 in Norwich, the son of Claude and Coralee (Dunagan) Squires.
Robert was a graduate of Norwich High School and served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service he worked for the Norwich Shoe Company for 26 years as senior staff accountant and for 10 years at the Chenango Valley Home as their staff accountant. Robert loved music and also operated his own DJ service.
Robert is survived by his wife, Carol Ann of Norwich; son, Jason Squires, step-sons, Kevin Perez and Shaun Perez of San Antonio, Texas; his father Claude Squires, his step-mother Mary Lou and his brothers Gary and Rick Squires, all of Norwich, and his sister June of North Carolina. Also surviving are step-sister Darlene Dunagan, step-brother David Dunagan, his mother-in-law, Alene Smith, all of Norwich and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Coralee Dunagan, step-father Hank Dunagan, and two uncles, David and Percy Squires.
Funeral services for Robert will be held on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place on Friday at 10 a.m. in North Norwich Cemetery.
