WAYNE WEYHER
SOUTH NEW BERLIN – Wayne M. Weyher, 53, of South New Berlin, passed away Monday afternoon, Nov. 27, 2006, in the Wilson Memorial Hospital of Johnson City.
The son of Wayne A. Weyher and Fay Slater Weyher Burke, Wayne was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on July 24, 1953. He arrived in Norwich at an early age and was a 1972 graduate of the Norwich High School. Wayne was known to be an excellent mechanic, especially when it came to trucks and tractors. He had worked for a short time at the Unadilla Valley drive-in, and was a projectionist at the Colonia Theatre in Norwich. Wayne loved all animals and had a special soft spot for wild birds.
Wayne is survived by his mother. Fay Burke of Norwich; by his daughter. Sally Straight; by sisters and brothers-in-law: Carol and Ellery Gager, Jr., and Julie and James Genter; and by his brother and sister-in-law: Leslie and Brenda Burke, all of Norwich. He is also survived by his best friend. Jack Dewey of North Norwich, and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services for Wayne will be held at the convenience of his family, with interment in the North Norwich Cemetery.
Wayne’s family has requested that memorial contributions be sent to the Chenango County SPCA, 6160 County Road 32, Norwich, NY 13815.
