Cynthia Manwarren

NORWICH – Cynthia Ann “Cindy” Manwarren, 53, of Norwich, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2006 in the Otsego Manor of Cooperstown, where she had made her home since late January of this year.
Born Oct. 28, 1953, in Paterson, New Jersey, Cindy was the daughter of John and Rose (Storms) Bishop. She grew up in the Paterson and Bloomingdale areas of New Jersey where she attended the local schools, and worked as a nurse’s aide in several different areas of New Jersey before moving to Norwich in the early 1970s. For 16 years, Cindy worked as a nurse’s aide at the NYS Veterans’ Home, prior to her retirement. She was the type of lady who was a mother and friend to everyone. She had taken kids into her home and treated them as her own, and she was very devoted to her grandchildren. A “shop-a-holic” by nature, Cindy’s passion was to shop ‘til she dropped, and she had an extensive collection of bells, cows, and roosters. Throughout her entire life, she had battled her diabetes with courage and determination.
Cindy is survived by her children: Michael Bishop and wife Kim of Norwich, Corinne Manwarren of South Plymouth, and Martin Manwarren Jr. of Norwich; and her grandchildren: Bradley, Octavia, Vannesa, and Hunter Bishop, Dillon Clemens, Johnathon and Matthew Gemberling, and Kyara Manwarren. She is also survived by her sister, Evelyn Roberta and husband Mike of Sneads Ferry, N.C., and had been predeceased by her sister and brother. Joy and John Bishop, and her brother Robert.
Funeral services for Cindy will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. John Portney of the 7th Day Adventist Church will officiate. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 9 a.m. until the service at 11.
Cindy’s family has asked that memorial contributions be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 6390 Fly Road, 2nd Floor, E. Syracuse, NY 13057.
