BAINBRIDGE – Gerardo M. Vivo, 85, of Bainbridge, passed away Saturday morning, April 16, 2011 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born in Santiago, Cuba in April of 1925, Gerardo was the son of Tomas Machado and Estelita Vivo. He came to the United States as a teenager and lived in New York City. A perfectionist and very talented man Gerardo could design and build anything. For over 50 years he worked for Detecto Sales in Brooklyn as a metal wire machinist for the Union. He came to the Chenango County area 25 years ago where he continued to use his talents building model airplanes and furniture.
Gerardo is survived by his daughter Barbara Coss of Bainbridge, his grandson Anthony Coss of Brooklyn and his sister Duce Ache of Florida.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary Coss who passed away in 2005.
Services for Gerardo will be private at the convenience of the family.
