NORWICH – Ruth Ellen Hart, 62, of Norwich, passed away on Tues., May 31, 2011, at her home, surrounded by her family.
A life-long Norwich resident, Ruth was born in December of 1948, a daughter of Charles and Ellen Donnelly Dungey. She attended the Norwich schools while growing up. On March 3, 1983, in Norwich, she married James Allen Hart. Ruth was a woman with a lot of love for everyone and had been a foster mom to many over her years. She loved to go for rides at night, especially when she could listen to the spring peepers. She had worked on many farms for James Proskine, as well as for Interstate Battery. Ruth’s greatest joys were her family and many friends, who loved her dearly and will miss her so much.
Ruth is survived by her husband James of Norwich; her children: Charles Armlin of Preston, Richard Bliss of Norwich, Timothy Potts and wife Dorrie of Bainbridge, Gregory Rose of Norwich, and Samantha Hart and fiancé Dan Hendrickson of South New Berlin. Also surviving are Ruth’s sisters and brothers: Donna Youngs and husband Douglas of Preston, Sabra Snow of Preston, Donald Dungey and wife Gail of Wells Bridge, David Dungey and wife Frances of Oxford, Douglas Dungey and wife Peggy of Oxford; her seven grandchildren; sister-in-law, Diane Dungey of Norwich; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her very dear friend and companion to the end, Wendy Buterbaugh. In addition to her parents, Charles and Ellen, Ruth was predeceased by her brother, Ronnie Dungey.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph Hinman of Norwich will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Monday from 9-11 a.m.
