Linda Brazee


BURLINGTON FLATS – Linda D. Brazee, 62, of Burlington Flats, passed away on June 16, 2011 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
She was born on June 30, 1948 in New Berlin, the daughter of Charles Owen and Ida Mae (Royce) Dunham. On March 1, 1986 she married Ralph C. “Yogi” Brazee Jr. who survives her. Linda is also survived by her children Kimberly Lin Vibbard and husband, Daniel Vibbard of Edmeston and Selina Sue Gelatt and husband, Gary Gelatt of Burlington Flats. Five grandchildren; Blake & Logan Vibbard, Tanner, Jennie & Jeremy Gelatt. Two brothers, William Royce and wife, Marion of Morris and Barry Dunham and wife, Arlene of Pittsfield. One sister; Ardith Dunham of Pittsfield as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother; Royce Gene Dunham and one sister; Virginia Scott.
Linda spent her childhood in the New Berlin area where she attended New Berlin Central School. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was known for being “full of life” and always lending a helping hand to others. She enjoyed spending time with friends, traveling to Florida, camping, attending garage sales and flea markets and soaking up the sun by her pool. Her working years included waitressing, residential care at the Otsego School in Edmeston, and later became a Family Care Provider in her home for 35 years.
Calling hours will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Burlington Flats Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Jay Henderson officiating. A private burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin, at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be made to Great Beginnings Preschool or Burlington Flats Baptist Church 101 Arnold Rd, Burlington Flats, NY 13315 in support of the preschool playground.
