NEW BERLIN – Bernice “Peg” Bush, age 70, of Hawthorne, Fla., passed away at her home on Thursday, July 7, 2011.
She was born Sept. 9, 1940 in New Berlin to Bernard and Elizabeth Hill Dye. She was a member of First Baptist Church Hawthorne where she sang in the choir, Women’s Club and Lion’s Club. Peg enjoyed baking cakes and giving to others.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Bush, her first husband Robert Carl Simmons Sr. and son, Robert Simmons Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Dominick) DePaola of Waxhaw, N.C.; son, Andy (April) Simmons of Hawthorne, Fla.; brothers, Russell Dye of Hawthorne, Fla. and Bernard Dye of Norwich; sisters, Barbara Cane of Keystone Heights, Fla. and Beatrice Crandall of Sherburne; grandchildren, Dominick, III and Brandi and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home, Hawthorne, US 301 South at Lake Avenue with Pastor Henry McKinney officiating.
