McDONOUGH – Jesse H. Osborne, 90, of the Savona Campbell Road in Campbell, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at home.
Originally from McDonough, NY, Jesse had made his home with hid daughter in Campbell for the last five years. He was born on June 30, 1921 in McDonough, the son of Percy and May Hayden Osborne. He married the former Flora Depuyslier on July 3, 1955.
He was a long time dairy farmer in Chenango County. Upon his retirement from farming, he became employed at Oxford Academy and Central School in Oxford, as a custodian. Jesse was a lover of horses, especially working with work horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a sister, Evelyn Tice and brothers, Percy Osborne Jr. and Chase Osborne.
Surviving are his daughter, Sandra Howard (David Harris) of Campbell, his son, James (Bette) Osborne of Bainbridge, NY, his wife, Flora Osborne of Prattsburg, his grandchildren, Christopher Osborne (Julie Grover), Richard (Kayla) Howard and Salina Bryan, his great grandchildren, Alicia, Tyler, Trevor, Megan, Sydney and Braelynn, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and again from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull. Funeral services will follow on Sunday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jack Osbourn officiating.
Following the service, family and friends are invited to the family home at 5107 Savona Campbell Road in Campbell for a time of remembrance and refreshment.
Burial will be made on noon, Monday, July 18, in McDonough Village Union Cemetery in McDonough.
