OXFORD – Dave Westergaard left us too soon at the age of 54. He was born 11th of 13 children of the late Roger and Betty.
He was also predeceased by sisters, Nancy, Betsey and Bobbie and treasured brother-in-law, Tom Park.
He is deeply loved and missed by his wife of 16 years Alline, and their five young children, Zeno, Evangeline, Jeff, Adam and Ashton.
He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Coral and Les Moore, Donna Park, Linda Carr, Roger and Eleanor Westergaard, Kenny Westergaard, Kathy and Dick Birch, Lori and Jon Craig and Joanne and Steve McGrath, along with many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dave was a wonderful man who enriched lives and influenced people wherever he went. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Dave lived in Oxford but also had roots in Smithville Flats and Greene. He will be greatly missed by the staff and children at Oxford Central School and the staff and customers at McDonough Post Office.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Dave’s life, with military honors, at noon on Saturday at 5280 State Hwy. 41, Smithville Flats. A barbeque will immediately follow.
