NORWICH – Rose M. Miller, 89, a life long Norwich resident, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at her home.
Rose was born in October of 1922 in Oneonta, the daughter of Giovanni and Mary Mercurio. She grew up in Norwich and attended the local schools. Rose was a lifetime member of St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church and a member of St. Bart’s Holy Rosary Society. She had worked for many years for the Norwich Pharmacal Co. and its successors retiring from Procter & Gamble after many years of service. Over the years Rose enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling with her husband Wes Miller.
Rose is survived by her daughter Rose-Marie Zuccala and her husband Gigi and their three children of Messina, Italy, her sister Josephine Biviano, her brothers Samuel Mercurio and his wife Betty and Stephen Mercurio all of Norwich. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Millie Mercurio and several nieces and nephews.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Wesley Miller, her sister Carmela Hinkley and Edith Chase and her brother Wilson (Benny) Mercurio.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rose will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph Bove, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at St. Bartholomew’s Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11.
