SOUTH NEW BERLIN – Maysie C. Wells, 79, of South New Berlin passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011 at her home.
She was born in 1932 in the township of Morris, the daughter of Charles H. Wells and Nellie (Thompson) Wells. She was married to Benjamin L. Wells Sept. 10, 1950. He passed away Feb. 7, 2000.
Maysie is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Brunschmid and Sheila (Bruce) Beckert; two sons David Wells and James Wells; two sisters, Garnet Kovac and Susie Wells; a sister-in-law, Hilda Wells; eight grandchildren, Julie (Ron) Burns, John Brunschmid, Bryon, Erica and Sherry Beckert and Janet and Rebecca Wells and Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Phetteplace; four great-grandchildren Ashley and Morgan Burns and Ayla Wells and Mia Phetteplace. A brother, Keith Wells who died in 1987 predeceased her.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in South New Berlin with the Rev. Barry S. Davis and the Rev. Kurt Funke officiating, with a celebration of her life to follow at the church. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Hillington Cemetery in Morris at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to donate to the charity of one’s choice or the Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County, 21 Hayes St. Norwich, NY 13815 in Maysie’s memory.
