NEW BERLIN – Donna L. Fazio, 69, of New Berlin, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 1, 2011 at her home in New Berlin.
Donna was born on May 7, 1942 at Fox Hospital, Oneonta, the daughter of Clifford and Marjorie (Schulz) Delamarter.
Her childhood was spent in Meridale, and she was a 1960 graduate of Franklin Central School. She worked for several restaurants in Delhi after graduating. From 1968-1973 she was employed by the Delaware County Infirmary in Delhi and then from 1983 until her retirement in 2004, she was employed by Rowes Auto Service of Oneonta as a book keeper.
On Sept. 5, 1993 Donna was married to Frederick Fazio in Meridale. The service was performed by friends of the couple and Justice of the Peace, Bill and Joyce Holland.
Donna is survived by her husband Frederick, one brother; Cliff & Joanne Delamarter, one sister; Sandra & Sherman Trass, nieces; Stephanie & Dan McCann, Kelly & Lamar Peacock and Shannon & Jim Cleere as well as great nieces and nephews; Brian, Andrea, Tanner, Sawyer & Ellie Trass, Shelby, Tristan, Meredith & Delaney McCann, Schyler Delamarter, John & Ruby Cleere and Aaron Peacock.
She is also survived by her step son; Pastor Mark & Shirley Fazio, step daughters; Marcia Dee & Darrin Fawyer and Gharesa Mae Hilliker, sister-in-law; Maria A. Cashour as well as 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one step son, Kevin Fazio on Sept. 15, 2009.
Donna was a member of the Meredith Baptist Church. She loved all animals, nature and always had a kind word about everyone. She was warm and helpful to others. Her devotion to animals led her to take in many stray animals, caring for them and helping them to find loving homes. She went the extra mile for all people and animals.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin.
