NORWICH – Mary C. DiDonato, 55, of Norwich and formerly of South New Berlin, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 24, 2011 at her home.
Mary was born in Manhattan in November of 1955, the daughter of Andrew and Sarah McSherry Healy. She attended and graduated from the Cathedral High School in New York and also attended the Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School also in New York. On June 18, 1977, she married Michael A. DiDonato, who passed away Aug. 3, 1997.
A resident of the South New Berlin and Norwich area for over 30 years, Mary had previously worked for the Bendix Corp., Preferred Mutual Insurance Co. and WCDO Radio in Bainbridge. She was also a volunteer for the South New Berlin Fire Dept. Auxillary and a Notary Public.
Mary will be remembered as a loving, caring and honest mother, grandmother and sister. She was a strong woman who wanted the best for everyone she knew.
Mary is survived by her children Allyson Scott and her husband Joshua of Norwich, Mallory DiDonato of Ft. Worth, Texas, two grandchildren and her sister Deidre Jacob of Mt. Upton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides her husband Michael, Mary was predeceased by her sister Bridget Ordway.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Thursday at noon from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Sally Heiligman will officiate.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in the Riverside Cemetery of South New Berlin.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.
