Bruce Cramer


NORWICH – Bruce J. Cramer, 83, of South Broad Street, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 at the Norwich Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Norwich on Oct. 17, 1928, Bruce was the son of Jay D. and Ethel (Jones) Cramer. He graduated in 1947 from Norwich High School and in 1953 began working at the former General Laboratories Associates. He retired from Hercules/B.F. Goodrich in 1992 after over 39 years of service. He was a senior planner at the time of his retirement.
Bruce was a member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church. During his leisure time, he enjoyed coin collecting and jigsaw puzzles.
On May 20, 1954, in Waterville, Bruce married Phyllis J. Ramsdell, who survives. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Cynthia and Donald Meixner, of Jordan, NY, Donna Deuel (Tom Pratt) of Cazenovia and Steven and Vickie Cramer, of Taylorsville, NC; nine grandchildren, Rebekkah (Michael Hanks), Geoffrey, Gregory, Michael (Becky), Joshua (Jenna), Jennifer, Daron, Devon and Darek; and three great grandchildren, Kristopher, Elora, and Jameson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services for Bruce will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Broad Street United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bruce may be made to the Broad Street United Methodist Church, 74 N. Broad St., Norwich, NY 13815, or the Chenango SPCA, 6160 County Rd. 32, Norwich, NY 13815.
