NORWICH – Nina Simpson, 75, of Cortland, passed away Dec. 9, 2011 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born Dec. 27, 1935 in West Virginia, the daughter of the late French and Portia Mayle Dalton.
 She was raised and educated in Philippi, West Virginia. Mrs. Simpson resided in the Owego for over 25 years, then Norwich for over 18 years, and has resided in Cortland for the past year. While living in Owego, she was employed with Owego Day Care and was Director of the Friendship Inn Adult Day Care Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family and church activities. 
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Rev. Kenneth Simpson of Cortland; daughters Shelley (Arthur) Green of Saugerties, Robyn (Robert) George of Ellicottville, Sherlyn (Gary) Pallassino of Cortland; son Christopher (Jennifer) Simpson of Owego; brother Gary (Kaye) Dalton of Norwich; eight grandchildren: Christina and Stephanie Simpson, Michael, Alexandra, and Rachel Pallassino, Katelyn, Brian, and Dylan Simpson; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nina was predeceased by her infant daughter Laraine and son Stephen, who passed away in 2006.
Calling hours will be Monday 4-7 p.m. at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11 a.m. at Wright-Beard Funeral Home. Burial will be in the spring in South New Berlin.
