RAPID CITY, S.D. – Andrew Michael Holt, 19, of Rapid City, South Dakota, passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 in Rapid City.
Andrew was born on June 14, 1992 at Ellsworth AFB. His family resided in Honolulu, Hawaii beginning in 1996, returning to the Black Hills area in 1998, where he lived the rest of his life.
Andy loved to fish and hunt with Harold, his father and his best friend. He spent countless hours enjoying the outdoors. As a young boy, he was comforted by his mother, Leah, with her songs and lullabies. He cherished the time spent with his younger sister and brother. He enjoyed participating in baseball, football, wrestling and bowling all through his school years. He attended Vandenberg Elementary School, North Middle School and Central High School. He was kindhearted, determined to succeed in life, and a good friend to so many people. Andrew touched the lives of many.
He will be deeply missed by his mother, Leah Kay Holt; his father, Harold A. Holt II and Barbie Nachtigall; his sister, Kelly Marie Holt; and his brother, Amous Ryan Holt, all of Rapid City; and his grandparents, Brian and Jackie Holt of Earlville and Christian and Rebecca Williamson of Dresden, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Sandra Sears and aunt, Kelly Williamson.
Visitation was at the Kirk Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. and then for one hour before services.
Services were set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 at the funeral home, with Rev. Steve Balsley officiating. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City.
