GREENE – Barbara Anne Walling, 76, of Greene, passed away on May 1, 2012 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich.
She was born on Oct. 14, 1935 a daughter of the late Alfred Alonzo and Ethel (Marks) White. On Dec. 12, 1953 in Norwich she married Llewellyn Walling, who survives.
Besides her husband, Llewellyn of Greene, she is survived by her children, David Walling of Greene, Daniel and April Walling of Waverly, Dennis Walling of Johnson City and Donna and Daniel Schalk of Greene; her grandchildren, Nate Halsteter and Kevin Halsteter of Greene, Justin Walling of Hampton, Va., and Tyler and Claudia Walling of Wichita, Kansas and her great grandchildren, Jayme and Micayla Walling. She was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters.
Barbara attended Norwich High School. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she loved children and volunteered as a reader at Greene Elementary School and the Just Beginning Nursery School. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Greene.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kennedy Funeral Home, 21 N. Chenango St., Greene, with Rev. Jay Zaremba, pastor of her church, officiating.
Burial will be in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church, South Chenango St., Greene, NY 13778.
