EARLVILLE – Robert S. Nourse, 82, of South Hamilton Rd., passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Iroquois Nursing Home, Jamesville.
He was born March 13, 1930 in Erieville, the youngest of thirteen children of Rush Orlow and Mildred Hitchcock Nourse, and received his education in Cazenovia Schools. On Feb. 26, 1956, Robert married Sherry Clark in New Woodstock. They made their home in Erieville from 1956 until moving to Earlville in 1987. Sherry predeceased him on June 28, 1994. Bob was a dairy farmer in Erieville for a number of years. He also worked for Covino Brothers Construction in East Syracuse, and for 20 years was a custodian at Cazenovia Central School until his retirement in 1992.
Currently, he was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He was a former member of the Cazenovia Grange and the Dairyman’s League Cooperative, and a former director of the local league chapter.
Surviving are three sons, Raymond and Luann Nourse of Chittenango; Merrick Nourse of Earlville; Allie and Robin Nourse of Morrisville; three daughters, Tacy Andrus and Denise Nourse, both of Earlville; Robin and Darryl Granger of High Point, N.C.; a sister, Doris Ferris of Fayetteville; 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Benton Andrus.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville, followed by interment in the New Woodstock Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
