Beverly Smith


SOUTH NEW BERLIN – Beverly B. Smith, 76, of South New Berlin, passed away on May 29, 2012 at her home.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1935 in Boonville, the daughter of Dr. F.D. and Frances (Foote) Brown. Her childhood was spent in Hobart.
She was a graduate of South Kortright Central School and attended Hartwick College and Kingston School of Nursing. She retired from New York Central Mutual Insurance Company after 12 years as a medical review examiner.
Beverly enjoyed camping, traveling, knitting, crocheting, quilting, gardening, bird watching and mowing the lawn. She loved her family and her home.
She is survived by her fiancée, Terry Thomsen, her children; Richard & Beverly Smith of New Berlin, Kathy Bell of Cooperstown, Andrew Smith and partner Paul Trevvett of Cold Brook, and Carrie & Michael Meade of South New Berlin; her grandchildren: Cheryl & Jim Winton, Ashley Smith, Victoria Bell, Brock Bell, Shelby Meade, Spencer Meade and Great Grandson, Hunter Winton. She is also survived by one sister: Bonnie Navarro of Ithaca; and one brother: Donald Brown of Clarksville, Va.
Beverly’s children would like to extend a special thank you to Terry for his kind and loving care over the past year.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Dakin Funeral Home LP of New Berlin, with the Very Reverend Charles Taylor officiating.
