In 1983, Stan retired and opened his own consulting firm, Meyers Engineering, which he operated with his son Peter until his passing. During his years as a resident of South Plymouth, Stan was a member of the Chenango County Traffic Safety Board, from which he had received several awards. In earlier years, he had enjoyed teaching Sunday school. He and wife Polly had wintered in Hobe Sound, Fla., for many years and while there, Stan enjoyed being a park patrol for his community.
