NORWICH – Funeral services for Marguerette “Peggy” Hosbach were held on Thursday morning, May 25, beginning with a prayer services at 9:30 a.m. from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home led by parish minister Marie Dykstra. A Mass of Resurrection followed at 10 a.m. from the Church of the Holy Apostle St. Bartholomew. Celebrant from the Mass was the Rev. Lester Smith, pastor of St. Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church in Sherburne.
Mass began with Peggy’s daughters, Marguerette and Heidi, placing the baptismal pall upon their mother’s casket. The readings were proclaimed by grandson Christopher Newman and son-in-law David Newman. Presenting the gifts to Fr. Smith were daughters Marguerette and Heidi, and granddaughter Mary Kathleen Conroy with Marie Dykstra serving as Eucharistic Minister. Speaking in remembrance of Peggy were grandson Eric Newman and son-in-law Gerald Conroy. George Zieno was the altar server.
Music for the Mass was provided by St. Bartholomew’s choir with Susan Ticknor as organist and Antoinette Perkins as soloist.
Committal services followed at St. Paul’s Cemetery with Marie Dykstra offering the committal prayers.
Serving as pall bearers were Gerald Conroy, David Newman, Christopher Newman, Eric Newman, Dr. Francis Hailey and Bob Reid.
