Virginia Abraham


NORWICH – N. Virginia “Ginny” Abraham, 88, of Norwich, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born in Norwich on Sept. 12, 1923, Ginny was the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Mirabito) Esgrow. She graduated from Norwich High School with the Class of 1942 and then from beauty school on Long Island. Ginny then returned to Norwich and opened a beauty shop with her sister, Rose.
On June 23, 1956, in St. Paul’s Church, Ginny married A. Anthony “Abe” Abraham. Following her marriage she opened her own shop, “Ginny’s Beauty Shop,” which she operated until her retirement in 1987. Ginny and Abe moved to Florida for seven years before returning to Norwich once again.
Ginny was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Church where she was very active in many of the church functions.
She is survived by her husband, Abe Abraham, of Norwich and a daughter, Jo Ann M. Trinkle and her husband, Ernest, of Argyle, NY. Ginny is also survived by her grandson, Brandon Riley Trinkle, also of Argyle. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by two sisters, Rose Kirby and Frances Colomaio.
A private memorial service for Ginny will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
