Robert Mowers


OTSELIC – Robert A. Mowers, 47, of Otselic, passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 22, 2012, at his home with his family by his side.
Bob was born on June 8, 1965 in Norwich, the son of Robert J. and Minnie Beckwith Mowers. He grew up in the Sherburne and Earlville area and was a 1983 graduate of the Sherburne High School. First and foremost, Bob was a family man and enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a funny sort of guy and enjoyed having a good time. A lover of sports he enjoyed his hunting, NASCAR races and was a die hard Giants fan. A hard worker all of his life he had previously worked for the Chenango Valley Pet Food Co. Bob began a working career with Sherburne Metal Products seven years ago and was currently employed by there successor Tecnofil Chenango in Sherburne as a material handler.
On Sept. 20, 1986 in Beaver Meadow, Bob married Irene LaClair, who survives. Besides his wife Irene, he is survived by his children Margaret Mason and husband Kyle of Sherburne, Robert Mowers II of South Otselic, Matthew Mowers and wife Katie of Otselic, Sara Mowers of South Otselic and Benjamin Mowers of Otselic, his sisters, Gloria (Jean) Guiles of Sherburne, Lillian Russell of Syracuse, Kathy Sprowles and husband John of Texas and Patricia Woodcock and husband Chuck of Vernon and his brother Richard Mowers of Earlville. Also surviving are his grandchildren Cameron and Elaina Mason and Daniel and Kendra Mowers along with several nieces, nephews and an uncle.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Robert and Minnie, and a brother Robert Mowers Jr.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 5-8 p.m.
There will be no formal funeral services.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
