Joan Loeffler


NORWICH – Joan L. Loeffler, 65, a life long resident of Norwich, passed away Sunday afternoon, Sept. 23, 2012, in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Joan was born in Norwich on April 1, 1947, the daughter of Paul and Amy Brookins Loeffler. She grew up in the area and was a graduate of the South New Berlin High School. Joan had worked several years for the A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta. The majority of her working career was with Chenango Memorial Hospital, where she worked in the medical records dept. doing transcription as well as the X-ray dept., which she truly enjoyed. She had also worked for S.E.C.O. Physical Therapy in the same capacity.
Joan enjoyed get-togethers with her family, was an avid local racing fan and liked the company of her feline friends.
Joan is survived by her son David Loeffler and wife Bette Jo of Norwich; her grandchildren Madison and Ryan; her sisters Sally Supensky and husband Lee of Norwich, Christina Myrick and husband Bruce of Norwich; her half sister Arlene Holland of Sidney; and her brothers Jerrold Loeffler and wife Nancy of Norwich and Gary Loeffler of Harpursville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services for Joan will be held at 1 p.m. Monday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford will officiate. Interment will be in the North Norwich Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m.
