NORTH PHARSALIA – Barbara R. Brown, 82, a long time resident of North Pharsalia, passed away Tuesday evening, Sept. 25, 2012 at her home.
Barb was born in Preston on April 28, 1930, the daughter of F.LeRoy and Ursula King Franklin. She was a 1948 graduate of the Norwich High School and on Jan. 10, 1949 she married I.H. Brown, who passed away Nov. 30, 1995. Since her marriage she has made her home on the farm which is operated today by her sons.
Barb will best be remembered as a mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. A long time member of the North Pharsalia Bible Church, Barb has held all of the church offices and was also a member of the Pharsalia Fire Dept. Auxiliary and the Plymouth Historical Society.
Barb is survived by her children: Dennis Brown and wife Mary Ellen of North Pharsalia, Sunday Brown of Norwich, Douglas Brown and wife Anna, Dan Brown and wife Cindy, Dean Brown, Shari Ray all of North Pharsalia and Sheila Koeberle and husband Dave of Palmyra; her sister Trudy Church of North Pharsalia; brothers Alfred (Alf) Franklin and wife Jean of Norwich, Erford (Jigs) Franklin and wife Ricky of Marshfield, Wis., Donald Franklin and wife Carol of Plymouth and David Franklin of Norwich. Also surviving are her 17 grandchildren, Birch and Lukas Brown, Isaiah, Ursula and Ian Sutton, Elizabeth and Benjamin Brown, Jessica Wright, Eric, Marina, Hayley, Garrett and Levi Brown, Patrice and Andrea Ray, and Marietta and Oliver Koeberle. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Besides her husband I.H., Barb was predeceased by her sisters Arlene Mumbulo and Norma Fitch and her brother Lawrence (Laddy) Franklin.
Funeral services for Barb will be held on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. from the North Pharsalia Bible Church. The Rev. James Moore, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Center Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Saturday from 1-4 p.m.
