SMYRNA – Peter C. Maynard, 61, of Wilcox Rd., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012 at his home.
He was born June 5, 1951 in Norwich, a son of the late C. Edgar and Doris Coon Maynard. He was a graduate of Sherburne High School and Morrisville Agricultural and Technical College. Peter was a self-employed dairy farmer his entire life on his Frog Rock Farm in Smyrna. On July 2, 1971, Peter married Linda D. Weiss in Sempronius, NY.
He was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church. For 25 years, he was a member of the Smyrna Planning Board where he served as Chairman.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Linda; his children, Eric Maynard of Smyrna; Dawnne and Perry Dehne of Kodiak, AK; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine and Nigel Seddon of Smyrna; Joanne and Jim Church of Ithaca; Lois and Douglas McVarish of Collingswood, NJ; brother and sister-in-law, Nathan and Jodie Maynard of South Otselic; grandchildren, Gregory and Timothy Dehne; his in-laws, Walt Weiss and Jeannine Weiss, both of FL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Smyrna Baptist Church. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends were invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne on Sunday from 4-8 p.m.
