NORWICH – Catherine A. Nelson, 86, formerly of Cincinnatus, passed away peacefully at the Chenango Memorial Nursing Facility, on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, while surrounded by her family.
Born in Deposit on July 23, 1926, Mrs. Nelson was a daughter of the late Clifford and Minerva Burke Craft. She attended the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus. Prior to her retirement, she was a nurse’s aide for the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, Casper, WY.
She is survived by her children, David (Linda) Brewer of Norwich, Roger (Starla) Brewer of Lusk, WY, Richard (Tammy) Brewer of Carlisle, PA, John (Debra) Brewer of Webster, FL, Kathy Stoker of Colorado Springs, CO, and Deatta Uecker of Dade City, FL. She also leaves behind her stepsons, Greg (Cheryl) Nelson of Groton, Eric (Dorothy) Nelson of Greene, and Tim (Marilyn) Nelson of Ralston, WY; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Nelson in 2009, a daughter, Susan Chapman in 2001, sisters, Vida Parslow and Vera Russ, and a brother, Enos Craft.
Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, on Friday at 2:30 p.m. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
