GUILFORD – Nancy Parsons, 72, of Guilford, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at her home in Guilford.
She was born Dec. 19, 1939 in Sayre, Pa. the daughter of the late Cyreno and Doris Barrowcliff.
Nancy was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Bainbridge and the Kassel Mission Historical Society.
Nancy was a graduate of Bainbridge High School.
She married to her high school sweetheart, Paul Parsons on April 18, 1959. Paul and Nancy went on their first date when they were 15.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Harvey Barrowcliff, and sisters Phyllis Vanderpool and Barbara Jones. She was also predeceased by her mother and father-in-law, Harry and Edith Parsons.
She is survived by her husband, Paul of Guilford. Children Karla Banach and husband Tim of Glenville, Paula Jolley and husband Larry of Calcium and son Ren and wife Diane of Guilford. Grandchildren Patrick Banach, Nicole Banach, Challen Banach, Mary Kate Banach, Elaine Jolley, Paul Parsons, Tim Parsons and Ashley Parsons and great grandson McKinley McCarthy.
She is also survived by her brother Bud Barrowcliff and wife Beverly, and sister Shirley Canfield and husband Harold, and sister-in-law Marion Barrowcliff. She is also survived by brother-in-law David Parsons and wife Lori and sister-in-law Charlotte Parsons.
In addition she is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nanny, as she was affectionately known, loved to play Bingo. She also had a vast collection of Teddy Bears that she proudly displayed in their home. But most of all, Nanny loved her family. She was a strong matriarch who was dearly loved in return.
Friends and family called Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at C.H. Landers Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will be held Monday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bainbridge at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Marilyn Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge.
